Enugu State residents now have a more convenient option for processing their travel visa applications, as the United Kingdom has established visa centres in the region.
The Enugu State government expressed its gratitude to the UK Government for setting up this centre, facilitating visa applications for residents in both Enugu State and the broader South-East zone.
The announcement came through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, in Enugu.
Visa centre resulted from diplomatic discussions
The establishment of the visa centre was a result of discussions between Governor Peter Mbah and the UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, during the commissioner’s visit to the Government House in Enugu in June.
The government warmly received the news of the visa centre, recognizing its potential to strengthen economic partnerships and cultural exchanges between Enugu State and the United Kingdom.
It expressed anticipation for a mutually beneficial relationship with the UK, as the visa centre plays a pivotal role in this endeavor.
Residents, particularly those in the South-East, are encouraged to utilize this opportunity for their visa applications.
The government reiterated its commitment to enhancing security for both residents and visitors engaged in business within the state, emphasizing that Enugu State is open for business and investment.
