The National University Commission (NUC) has given its approval for the University of Ilesa to offer 32 undergraduate courses in the upcoming 2023/2024 academic session.
The University of Ilesa was formerly a College of Education in Ilesa, Osun state, and was recently upgraded to university status.
NUC approves 32 courses
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, stated that this move aligns with his commitment to elevate the College of Education to the University of Ilesa during his 2018 election campaign.
He emphasized the importance of pursuing international standards for the institution.
Adeleke expressed his delight that the NUC has granted approval for the launch of these undergraduate programs, numbering 32 in total.
He sees this approval as a testament to his administration’s dedication to providing world-class education and aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) as part of the state’s 5-point agenda.
The governor also extended an invitation for collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, emphasizing his commitment to the success of educational initiatives and policies during his tenure, not only within the state but also beyond its borders.
