The lifeless body of Blessing Karami, a 26-year-old undergraduate student at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in Abuja, who had been declared missing since September 11, 2023, was discovered in a wooded area in the Karimo district of the Federal Capital Territory.

A key development in the case was the arrest of Aminu, believed to be the deceased’s boyfriend, as part of their inquiries.
Genesis Karami, the older brother of the deceased, played a crucial role in the search for his sister. He received a mysterious phone call on Tuesday that seemed to provide information about her corpse, only to discover that the lead was a false one.
The caller had claimed to have found a female body in Idu and described the clothing the deceased was last seen wearing, raising suspicions.
Genesis Karami’s relentless efforts eventually led to the discovery of his sister’s decomposed body in the Karmo bush area. Given the advanced state of decomposition, they decided to enlist the help of environmental authorities for the necessary arrangements and a dignified burial.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, has stated that the police are fully committed to uncovering the truth surrounding Blessing Karami’s untimely death.
