Three students from Nasarawa State Polytechnic have been injured in an off-campus attack by unidentified gunmen, while a fourth student remains unaccounted for.
According to Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson for the state police command, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm in Ombi 1, Lafia, where the victims, who are students of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, live off-campus.
Gunshot wound and injuries reported
Nansel stated that one of the students sustained a gunshot wound, while the other two are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.
Upon receiving a distress call about the robbery, the police promptly dispatched officers to the scene, where they found the injured students.
They were subsequently transported to Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital for medical care.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that one student, identified as Jumoke, was missing. The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the commissioner of police deploying tactical teams to pursue the perpetrators.
