Folu Adeboye, the wife of Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG has officially launched Horizon 2033, an international education initiative. Africa Missions Global (AMG), an organization founded by Folu Adeboye, announced this initiative in a statement released on Monday.
The Horizon 2033 initiative has been in development since 1996, with the goal of providing humanitarian support to 100 million Africans within the next decade.
Horizon 2033 initiative
The announcement of this initiative was made during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, USA, last Wednesday.
Enoch Adeboye explained that he and Folu decided to present Horizon 2033 to the UNGA for potential collaboration following the UN’s recognition of his wife earlier in the year with the “Woman of Distinction” award as an outstanding global peace ambassador.
Adeboye noted that AMG has been working “quietly” because they prefer not to draw attention to their efforts, but they have a presence in almost all African nations, where they have established schools, boreholes, and other projects not funded by governments.
He added, “But when the UN took notice and honored my wife, we felt it was time to introduce ourselves to the world to foster more collaboration.”
Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, who attended the presentation of the initiative, praised the work of AMG and described the RCCG general overseer and his wife as inspiring figures.
Folu Adeboye explained that Horizon 2033 aims to nurture future leaders, turning them into global citizens with strong moral values, integrity, a strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial skills.
She emphasized the urgency of the initiative, stating, “The media is filled with narratives of disaster. We can’t afford to sit back and do nothing.”
Folu Adeboye said that AMG intends to achieve its target by partnering with governments, multilateral organizations, philanthropic groups, and individuals who share their vision.
